So, 18.15 yesterday evening my son got a call here in Yorkshire from a local client who has had staff working at a limited access events centre in central London -
“The 3 tonne scissor lift has not been collected by its hire company (as scheduled) and will be irreconcilably in the way at 07:00 tomorrow (Wednesday) - the events centre facilities manager is threatening to put it out on the street”

My son’s contact got it collected by 20:45 on an artic low loader and will be delivered back to hire Co this morning.

The not inconsiderable cost will ultimately be passed on to the hire Co. to argue about but our charge is guaranteed …

My quick search suggests 2000kg for D Max. If both trailers are around 750kg (which they could be. My tri axle Ifor Williams is 800kg) he could just manage to be running legal.

Yes, it's a bit long winded but in the UK I think the plod/DVSA call it the
"we ain't got a feckin clue bout the rules, but we dunna like the look of that, so will pull it over and try and make sumthin stick, if the driver don't know better than us" modus of operandi.
Which can be shortened to "cos we can"

So if twin axles can carry 3 and a half tonnes, we all know tri axles can carry a lot more so how much can a quad axle carry then? Are we into STGO territory
