I’ve just thought, the second pic posted of the ERF 8 wheeler on the road is now owned by my brother. It doesn’t look quite so smart these days!

He’s bought it to use as a big wheelbarrow around the yard when grain drying.

There is more to that than meets the eye. The position of the fifth wheel relative to the second axle would change the first axle weight dramatically with two foot movement surely.

IIRC the spacing between 1st and 2nd axles means the unit can run at a higher gross weight than if the gap was shorter, rather than due to the weight transfer. Could be wrong though.

Can you see a benefit in weight transfer or road safety with that thinking?
