Loaning dairy cows

I’m in the process of starting up milking cows and hit a bit of a hurdle with the bank just wondering what people think of loaning cows instead of going out and buying? Any advice is greatly appreciated

I looked at it when I was in your position 10 years ago.
Finding them and all the pitfalls that could go wrong put me off. Consensus was it could only really work with lower yielding cows that were more likely too have a longer life and less demanding were lower risk.
I bred everything too sexed semen too get numbers up but boy it was a long old wait.
Good luck.

Milk contract guarantees 21p
Is this for jersey milk as your username suggests ?
Hope that is a minimum price for a short period
Out of block spring calvers will be better value than some , I was in a lucky position to buy young good cows , but wouldn't worry about age or 3/4 in the summer if budget requires

There has to be an advantage for the farmer, which would turn into a disadvantage to you. Go on dragons den, always wanted to do that when wanting to build a shed. Ask for 100k for 5% of ur business
