Log splitter valve

Hi guys

i have just tried the log splitter and the cylinder wouldn’t retract. It felt like the handle was stuck. I strippped the valve down and couldn’t see anything obvious but it won’t work at all now. I am not quite sure what the bit I have circled red does? I am unsure if I have put it back correct? Anybody got any ideas what it does?
Thanks

yes its a pressure relief valve , it shouldnt directly restrict the lever from moving though , it just varies the degree/psi at which the valve blows anda lets of f pressure./bypass.

sounds like theres something in the spoolbarrel actually causing a stop ? like a sealor oring out of place maybe?

I think the pressure relief valve is the one at the bottom/left in your pic, assuming the hose at the bottom is the pressure in and tank line is at the top.
Is there some sort of automatic return stroke feature on this splitter as that valve circled could be to do with setting that.
