If by chance you had a lorry coming in the morning for milling wheat and you knew for certain the sheet had four plus holes in it large enough for put a couple of fingers through, (seen the holes with my own eyes) and the haulier is telling you thats fine, would you load it???

You have to sign the passport to say you are happy with the lorry, but it doesn’t sound like you are.
Call the merchant and say you are not happy with the lorry, tell them and if they still want you to load the lorry any risking rejection or deduction is to be carried by them and see what they say!

I’ve done just that, awaiting reply but it won’t get loaded until I get one!

Whilst it's not ideal, it's hardly going to have any effect.

I really wouldn't worry about it.

So it’s going to have no effect? 10mm rain in half hour this afternoon, load gets wet, spear at mill hits wet spot when sampling, who pays the claim????
Why should I pay out on ACCS when haulier carting end product can’t be bothered to adhere to TASCC??

If it's four holes as you've described, you would only need to worry if the trailer was going to be parked up for months, if it's going to be tipped the same day or even the same week it will be fine even if there's an inch of rain.

A few years ago my grain co op had a few complaints during a very wet harvest about loading lorries during heavy rain, they told drivers to collect a sample from the shed being loaded from, when tested they showed bugger all difference from the normal sample from the lorry at intake

I had a lady driver here a year or two back who said that she had forgotten to put the sheet over the load, and had parked up overnight in the rain. She was shitting herself, but the spear went right under the wet, and no problem. To be honest you would need an awful lot of water to dampen 30 tons of dry grain.
