Have a load here that we dont use, think the bed stands18" off the ground, we used to load 12 layers high (Welger) on them, would take 350 each. They have 24 wheels on each trailer with a turntable at the front. No brakes so could be interesting on a hill.

Bale trailers, had 6 of them, used to even tow one behind the other loaded on the road but only from outlying ground we had, would make 150hp struggle up a slight incline. Highly illegal nowadays I would think.
Practical Farm ideas did a feature on them I seem to remember. Wheels/hubs were cheap as chips from the scrap yard and if you had a puncture you just kept on going, started with Mini wheels/hubs then when they dried up we moved over to Escort hubs/rims
Entertaining to reverse mind but got the hang of it in the end.
Used to get 3 flat 10 squares on the bed, made tying them in easy as the packs were square, so we didnt have to handle a bale from field to lorry if you stacked them right in the sheds.
