Did luximo work for you? If so when did you drill?
not realy but i bet if there were any mist bit's they would have showed, liberator more consistant! (ryegrass)Did luximo work for you? If so when did you drill?
It’s done a very good job here but we are late drilling from 25/10 onwards so it typically goes on into moist seedbeds so I think the combination of the late seeding and wet conditions is why it’s worked. Liberator is now average here.not realy but i bet if there were any mist bit's they would have showed, liberator more consistant! (ryegrass)
Not really. We used to use flufenacet/aclonifen products with Avadex granules sprinkled off the back of the drill to be rolled in. I intend to go back to that system.Did luximo work for you? If so when did you drill?

Where is the best place for avadex- before or after rolls? Not really. We used to use flufenacet/aclonifen products with Avadex granules sprinkled off the back of the drill to be rolled in. I intend to go back to that system.
The main problem was the lack of moisture in the seedbed and lack of a chit before sowing too.
Edited to add: Luximo did have an effect but against immense BG numbers
We had the same, drilled and sprayed then next day it chucked it down, definitely washed it down and killed some plants. Could also see the overlap from sprayer on headlands need to be more careful this yearIt gave the wheat a right kicking here in the autumn, lost plants because of it. I can’t blame the product 100% though - we applied it the last dry day before it pee'd it down for 2 months so washed it straight down to the seed. However - black grass control for us has been OK this year so maybe it helped?
Either. It’s vapour. As long as it gets rolled at some point to avoid the seeds growing protected from inside a big clod. You might argue it’s less likely to blow away if it’s rolled inWhere is the best place for avadex- before or after rolls?
Looking into running avadex this season so you’ve had some experience of putting on with the drill and then rolling and finding it works ok?Either. It’s vapour. Yes and no; we always used to put it on with a Kuhn aero initially; then a tma4 behind a gator. On top of the blackgrass now so don’t use it. It’s got very expensive also… if I were to go back to it I’d just get a contractor in with a 24m machine. All those bags are a right faff.Looking into running avadex this season so you’ve had some experience of putting on with the drill and then rolling and finding it works ok?

My comments were anecdotal- I haven't been here long enough to know the whole picture as my predecessor did this but my neighbour does this and has very clean crops.Thank you for that.
We've only ever used fft/aclonifen products and been fairly pleased overall with the results. Your comments about Avadex are interesting though - it's something I've never tried yet but I think it might be worth looking into more if I can find a local contractor able to apply it.
What system do you use to apply it on the back of the drill?

I'll be using a contractor this year but my Christmas shopping is a Stocks Turbojet applicator mounted on the back of the drill to blow the granules into the rear harrow. It risks some exposed crop seed but is a different mode of action that should help if it's dry at drilling time, compromising the liquid pre em efficacy.
Good applicator, easy to calibrate!!My comments were anecdotal- I haven't been here long enough to know the whole picture as my predecessor did this but my neighbour does this and has very clean crops.
