inspired by another thread does anybody remember some machines that were advertised everywhere but soon petered out? i often wonder what happened to those telescopic loaders for tractors...square ploughs and big cutterbar mowers for use behind stripper headers...oh and front mounted ploughs

Howard Paraplow, Howard Haytimer ( An awful flail mower that we, amongst others, were stupid enough to buy ). McConnel Gripwheels.

Romadomes?

Those big round things to bolt on your front wheels of your two wheel drive tractor which you used for buckraking back in the 70's. Supposed to stop the front wheels sinking into your double chop.

Anyone remember? I'm sure I've got an old brochure here somewhere.

Gantry systems.
I did some baling on a farm about 25 years ago that had two of them parked up in the nettles, a not very old one and one several years older. They obviously liked the concept, but couldn't get it to work!

Ford tractors
I have never been a Ford fan, The E27N Fordson must have been the ugliest ( and unless it had the Perkins P6 probably the numbest ) tractor ever made but to say that Ford tractors as such have not been a "commercial success" is ridiculous , they have sold in their millions.
