Managing forward rape

So how do people manage forward rape? Got some very strong looking rape after spring barley. It’s a hybrid as not drilled that early (at 40seeds per square M) and has had 30kg/ha of N.

Mild and wet still. 17 degrees today.

There’s a good crop of docks and mustard mixed in. Astrokerb due next week if it’s dry enough.

Enjoy it, pigeon’s shouldn’t be much of a worry. Well done.

I have a rec to go on now with mine, mainly because I need to add a fungicide for phoma control as their appears to be a bit lurking.
Biggest problem with a large thick canopy re Astrokerb is actually getting through it to the target weed underneath.
As for soil temperature, get it on, temperature will be falling soon enough.

Was showing 16c up here too.
Yep but the ground temp is getting very low. Perfect spraying day, forecast is for rain all week coming, how long before it’s too wet to travel and you just make a mess?

The 10C at 30 cm soil depth relates to how long the kerb takes to degrade, even if it is 10.8c as corteva app says I’m not going to lose that many days of activity, might even gain some when it gets colder here than down south through winter.

I’ve only put it on round headlands to try and control sterile brome.

As above, the issue in my mind is hitting actual weeds as there is so much crop potentially in the way. I wouldn't worry too much about the docks.

Still a lot of winter to go yet mind but that looks a lovely crop but then all of the OP's crops always seem to shine anyway. I'd be surprised if there are OSR crops on the scrat of Salisbury plain stood looking like that in the face of those cold winds with no shelter etc.
