Manufacturer specified antifreeze and oils

I would be curious to know your thoughts on using modern antifreeze and oils in older tractors - say 10-15 years and older - instead of the manufacturer's recommended fluids as specified in the owner's manual. Some fluids may be considerably more expensive - if available at all - as demand drops over time, but perhaps more modern fluids are better anyways? Do you always follow the manufacturer's recommendation when changing fluids?

Think the only problem is mixing red/orange antifreeze with the blue /green stuff.
E9 spec engine oil ,and Utto for the transmission should be good for most ten yr old plus tractors.
