One of the commonest complaints about our elected representatives is that they don't understand farming. Then we are presented with a farmer as Minister for farming and we still give him a kicking. Maybe the old adage is true; we really do get the politicians we deserve.

There is no real hope. We need to have the NFU about face and begin to back the rural vote. The problem is the rural support is now being used to support the likes of NT, Church Commissioners, Duchy and numerous Wild Life Charities who have found funding difficult.
So now with new leadership the NFU have a perfect opportunity to repair some of the damaged fostered by Batters. Otherwise we will become another Gaza where we are held to ransomed as we are unable to feed ourselves. Mind you those Farmers left standing will surely profit.

How long before Batters is remembered in the List. I have just reread the Easter story and got as far as Judus, makes good reading.

The Times today is suggesting Sir Mark is somewhat responsible for the closure of the Derby train factory.
Funny that his knighthood was rolled out a mere 24 hours before this revelation.

Was Mark Harper Transport Secretary named - failed to order new trains. Prevaricating so ALstrom relocating back to Europe.

We have had 1 or 2 now and all tow a party line when in office, and spill the beans when off the leash
The MP for Scarborough and Whitby is a farmer, was a minister of state for farming AND IS A SIR
But i seem to remember he has said more home truths of late
PS remember the message, related
