Hi,

Can anyone tell me what oil a 2006 massey Ferguson 5465 (Dyna 4) should have in the engine and in the back end? This section of my manual is missing!

A 15w/40 grade engine oil of API CH4 / ACEA E7 or above.
Transmission will be 10w/30 grade approved to MF CMS 1145.
14 L in the engine, 70L in the trans’.

There is a supplement to the single brand and page in the manual where it lists back end oils, and most manufacturers make a Super Universal these days which is compatible for the back end, especially as the warranty is long gone. That MF standard is bulls**t which basically makes you go to the MF dealer to buy your oil as no-one else ever lists that spec, and they put the fear into you with a warning label "It is imperative to use the correct oil" or something similar. What they don't tell you is the correct oil is common and easy to get hold of these days.

I too spent many years trotting off to the MF dealer past two or three other dealers on the way for my magic backend oil.

Look on Morris oils website, you can input the details of your tractor and it will bring up a list of suitable oils for your tractor and capacities.
Fuchs have a similar facility, maybe other manufacturers too.

For the transmission it is ideal.

Yes, I think that could be used in the transmission of any modern Massey, it’s certainly compatible with my 6200’s and the hydraulics and transmission of my 7480

Great for any MF with wet brakes and even those without.
