Has anyone got a massey 690 or similar with the stickers still on the gears, if so could you please post a picture as I want to get some made.

Also a picture of the complete dash as I have a few lights missing but not sure what they are for or should look like to replace them.

Thanks

How many gear box options did they have? Certainly multi power and synchro 12, both pretty much the same and simple for gear layout, did they do an 8 speed too? If they did I wouldn’t have thought it would be that common, allthough I did drive an 8 speed 590 and I seem to remember the gear layout was a bit cock eyed.

12 syncro or multi power
8 speed was poverty spec but 600 series obviously luxury spec

It’s just that the 12 speeds are pretty simple to remember the gear positions on but I’m sure MF did an 8 speed that was far from logical, something like reverse top left, first bottom left, second top right, fourth bottom right with third somewhere in the middle?

There is a gear in between where reverse and second normally is, but I thought that 4th was in the middle, but it must be at least 25 years since I drove a 8 speed
I prefer multi power

Perhaps it was fourth in the middle, never owned one myself just drove someone else’s on odd occasions and remember that the layout seemed illogical.

Only 8 speed I’ve owned is my 410, that has reverse and first on the left, third and fourth on the right with second top center. I’m sure it’s not the same layout as the old 8speeds.
