great work there look forward to the video(y) why would anyone want to restor a 135 when you could have one of them:love:
Mayo, wouldn't be the first place I'd look for a big Massey.
Would it be rude to ask what gearbox has it got?
Great work, by the way and welcome ..........
18 speedshift more than likely, 4 main gears, high and low, forward and reverse on another lever and a clutchless splitter button

Its a 1987 so is one of the last i believe, this model was built between 1985-1987. Well i thought if i can get her all up together then i would be able to use her a lot more than i would a smaller tractor. Would still be a beast in the field pulling the plough, i would like to find one of these ploughs below or something similar. I'm trying to keep it all original or how it would have been back in the late 80's.

I thought i would post some more photos of the Fuel system. I had a complete rebuild of the fuel injection pump along with 6 reconditioned injectors with new nozzles. I sent the fuel injection pump/ injectors away and all the work was carried out by Sid Cook at Brant Diesels, he does a great job and sure knows his stuff. I have had to buy a new Turbo so i will have that shortly, still other bits to fit and replace but its getting there. (y)

Hi, I am new to this forum but i would like to share one of my current projects which i am currently doing.

Its a Massey Ferguson 2725 tractor with the 6 Cylinder Perkins A6.354.4 Turbo Engine. Rated at 147HP.

I did buy the tractor as a non runner and the engine was in a very bad state, 3 liners had split everything was seized solid. The engine has now been fully rebuilt, everything overhauled. Crankshaft reground, new Pistons, Liners, Head skimmed, Complete new Valve train, new fuel injection pump, new injector nozzles, Turbo being reconditioned and loads more.

Have a look at the pictures.

Thanks

Engine is back together now, i am waiting for the Turbo to be reconditioned, will be putting in the clutch this week and joining the tractor back together. More photos will be posted soon and i will get a video of the first start up.

Thanks
When i took the head off it was a mess, i didn't know what to expect, everything was in such a bad state, rust and water was everywhere, The tractor i believe has been stood for 10 years or more. I don't know why or what happened to the tractor, i'm sure there's a story out there.

That looks like jolly hard work but worth it in the long run no doubt..
Is The MH 744 on your avatar one of your projects too?

Hi, yeh its pretty hard going but all fun and will be worth it when its done. The MH 744 which i bought from Belgium has had a bit of paint to tidy it up, the engine needs spraying black. I have another MH 744 which is half restored to a good standard waiting to have the engine dropped back in but trying to find time is very hard, the hours just fly by when im enjoying my self in the work shop. Watch the video of the MH744

I see The 744 is badged as 744PD ( As opposed to 744D) so was it one of the very first tractors built in Manchester before production moved to Kilmarnock?

Been working on the Massey the last couple of days, got a brand new Garrett turbo as you will see from pictures below. Got the new water pump on on, just some more pipes to be cleaned and installed, radiator/ oil cooler. I also need to drain and flush diesel tank, also check hydraulic oil/ filters etc. I should have her running within the next couple of days or by end of week depending on the time.

Should you not have fitted the pulley onto the water pump before fitting the pump to the engine? Only asking cos I made the rookie error of not supporting the back of pump and ended up pushing the impeller back and got it leaking once

She is running, got the massey fired up today for the first time. Sounds really nice and engine is running very well. I do have a first fire up video and a couple of others but i am waiting to get her outside in the yard so you can hear clearly on the video. I will put all the clips in one video. Got some gremlins to sort first, a couple of oil and water leaks. I will hopefully then see if the tractor drives out of the shed because i have no history of the tractor and i do not know if any thing else works. :scratchhead:

Checked the oil in the back end and changed hydraulic filter, the oil was very clean and basically like new so im very confident the engine was the only problem with this tractor and hence why she was parked up all those years ago.

Got some of the gremlins sorted and put her into gear and she drove out the shed like a dream. All the gears are good, new clutch is working well, PTO works. I haven't run the engine for more than 20 mins at the moment just making sure everything is ticking over smoothly. Got some wiring up to do now, nothing major. Just little jobs all over the tractor and working out what is working and what is not. Video will be here shortly, want you to hear this beast roar (y)
