Hello,i recently bought a second hand Ferguson 3060.Everything went quite well until a few days ago when the last travelling gear and 4wd stopped working. The dashboard lights do turn on and the valves are working but i can't figure out what might be the problem with it.Any help is highly appreciated, thanks.
L.E:Oh,and i forgot to mention,my main interest is in the 4wd,the last travelling gear and the 4wd seemed to stop working at the same time, the buttons that engage them are recieving power,i checked them with a multimeter.

Splines on 4wd input shaft are totally worn off as that's very common when they have a worn axle centre pivot bush. Probably sold for that reason.

it worked well until some days ago.The tractor was imported from France and it wasn't used for a while by the last owner, but it looked like it's been taken care of.I don't think that might be the reason it was sold, but i might be wrong.

Look under the front right hand side of the cab, there is a wiring box that is susceptible to corrosion in the pins in the connectors Try cleaning and spraying with WD40 or similar. If the pins are too far gone they will need replacing, a few year ago I was able to get some new terminals on a short length of wire which fit into the terminal blocks. Also there is a fuse in a wiring loom above the batteries that may have corroded.

My money is on one of the collars that join the 4wd shaft to either the output shaft from the Dropbox or the input shaft of the front diff sliding back so no drive to the axle. Easily fixed with a new split pin.

Thinking about your problem with the speedshift, is the button staying pressed in when you use it? Unlike the 4wd and difflock buttons the speedshift button has two different positions, I have had problems before where the button gets worn and won't stay pressed in.

It turned out not to be a mechanic problem so that's a relief. The contacts were a little coroded so i sprayed them with anti rust spray and cleaned them.Looks like it solved all my problems but now it doesn't show the indicator on the dashboard when it's engaged and it will light the indicator when it's deactivated, wierd. Thanks for all the help.

Hello Cropwell. Would you remember what type/model of pin it is, which one goes into the terminal? We can't find anything on the internet.
