Massey Ferguson 32 combine Engine plate

Anyone had any issues with the plate that drives the tail shaft splitting out repeatedly? Changed twice in last 3 seasons and just gone again. Any advice be gratefully received.

I've done 2 in 14 years on a 36.

Are you sure the engine revs are low enough on drum start up ?

And I think our second one went because we didn't replace the plastic spigot bearing in centre of flywheel the first time

There has been quite a few revisions to that plate over time.

Did u set it up with the vernier, to mke sure the shaft doesn't wobble too much

Cheer for workshop manual- done all this- torque up bits through window on housing as well to make sure I had it centralised. Replaced plastic spigot bearings the works. Always put in drum in at tick over .

Worries something out of true.
Thanks for replies everyone

But is your tick over set slow ? Throttle cables have been known to get shortened When they snap [emoji6]

Our 32 had a bad habit of doing the same. Got a nylon spigot made that was a tighter fit and that seemed to cure it. The plate we just welded up and the machine went away like that still going.
