Yeah vario would be the only gearbox worth having on an 8sYeah, we've got a demo 8s245 coming on demo next week. It's not a vario though. Seem to be competitively priced and seem to be a good all rounder on paper
Vario box is the one to have but they are a very expensive tractor now, a deere & fendt will be less money & the 8s is worthless second hand with any gearbox in it other than a dyno VTYeah vario would be the only gearbox worth having on an 8s
Dyna E was meant to be troublesome which gave them a bad name. Think dealers had to do a mod on them.I see lots of young 8S for sale - which is the gearbox name that has caused so much damage to the brand if VT is the only acceptable one?

Yes the gearbox is sorted now I believe. There is still new tractors having new gearboxes fitted now. We’ve just bought a 225 dyna 7 it was 28k cheaper than a dyna vt one because it’s an old stock tractor as well as the different gearbox it was also substantially cheaper than a 7s210. Also the main driver is my brother who doesn’t want a vario especially if it’s going to cost more to do the same job. So I decided to take the risk but it has a 5 year warranty so I’m not too worried. I love the 8s to drive it really feels like an mf and a lot of true mf features are back from the 64 days like the linkage rocker switch and a decent foot throttle. So time will tell how it turns outSurely they've sorted the transmission problems now though? I haven't had any prices yet but I'd be surprised if they were John deere/fendt money. I thought they'd be a priced more towards claas and New Holland. The people that have them seem to like them.
Better get some prices then . Because I can 100% assure you that you'll be surprised.Surely they've sorted the transmission problems now though? Dyna 7 is far from sorted. In fact it’s dangerous. and it’s not the tractors only problem.Yes the gearbox is sorted now I believe. There is still new tractors having new gearboxes fitted now. Will be different from deal to deal but in our area ,MF tractors are very expensive maybe the dealer is looking for more out of the deal who knows, very few new ones sold in our area by the dealer more sold in the area by the dealer to thd South of us ,selling in to the other dealers areaHeard a 8s was 40k less than a New Holland, that was changing price, trading in an MF, so secondhand figures could’ve distorted the price a bit.
There’s odd ones getting about around here now and sounds like they’re not giving much bother. Will be different from deal to deal but in our area ,MF tractors are very expensive maybe the dealer is looking for more out of the deal who knows, very few new ones sold in our area by the dealer more sold in the area by the dealer to thd South of us ,selling in to the other dealers area
