Massey Ferguson ( mainly ) tractor and combine pics from the 70’s and 80’s.

I often contribute to the Ford & JD 80’s pics, but as my name suggests, I grew up with MF through the 70’s to the 90’s, so I thought a thread had to be started for the red fans.

Please feel free to add your MF machinery.
Let’s begin.

Is this a recent photograph? If not I would think this combine is now in South Africa, but minus the multiflow. Worked for Eastern Tractors from 1974 and we stripped down and exported dozens of MF combines in the late 1970's. Started with the MF510 and then when we ran out of those we went on to the MF 525, which again had the multiflow removed to make it a 520. Later on we sent a few MF 750 combines, but they were expensive to ship due to their size and were not popular with the buyer. Still wonder if any are still in use, or whether the Perkins 354 engines are powering generators or similar.

Still earns its keep this one, picture taken about a month ago. The 750, a bit higher up the page, was working commercially until last year, but now in the hands of an enthusiast, and was working last weekend.

I think this is the same combine as above, 1989.

Strange there are no model decals visible, cant make my mind up if its an 855 or 865. Never seen anyone remove the reel on a powerflow in OSR and I wouldnt want to be the one cleaning the sieves and elevators next morning. Why cut so low, it looks like a good standing crop.

Boss must have missed this one, suppose it was sold out of the area early on in its life. He had a list of Eastern Tractors customers with 510 /515 machines and managed to get many of them to trade in for a new 525, even if they had no intention of changing yet. He was even buying from other MF dealers who had secondhand ones to sell.
