Massey lift problem

I have an 04 5445 and have a problem with the lift.
It will not go down using the rocker switch, but operates ok with the hitch switch, the mudguard switches and the wheel thing behind the rocker switch.
Is the rocker switch faulty or is there another problem?

I replaced my switch after similar problems. You may need to swap some wires behind the switch if you replace it because it may have been updated? I’m sure I swapped the switch with another one of the tractor to test it before I bought one but I can’t remember which one!

Is the dial that controls drop rate set to lock?

Usually you need to toggle the rocker to activate the hydraulics so it must be partially working but it does sound like a switch problem. I think I have a wiring plan for old and new switch and I may have a spare switch also.

Set to max rate of drop.

I’m sure they are around and about a hundred quid!

Try flicking out the switch and just have a ‘fiddle’ with it and the wires connected to it: often that will be enough to get it working. Doesn’t always require a new switch.

There are little resistors inside the switch and it could be that one of them has burnt out or disconnected.

I just took my switch apart and cleaned the contacts
No resistors in there

mine is off a 62 series - I note the 54 is different alright
