The floods are reducing now as you can see from that picture. We had 4" in the rain gauge in 24 hours.
Luckily we are on top of a hill so no great problems other than a flooded shed.

Yes indeed. The new defences worked in Sheffield and rotherham quite well but looks like the problem got moved further down the rivers.ironic that flood defences further up stream have flooded homes down stream.
No it's the other rivers that have those problems through rotherham and Doncaster.flooding in Matlock has nothing to do with defences upstream though. Not sure of the situation there regards river maintenance
