I can get some 457 x 152 x 52 beans @ 9 meters long , if I was to use these as uprights for straw shed uprights what span could I get away with , will be using galvanized purlin and 0.7 single skin roof sheeting using 150mms concrete panels for the first 2.4 m at the base

Around 15 - 20m if they were 457UBs all round. The main variable is what spacing are you putting the columns/bays.

Would need proper designing though - especially the column to rafter connection haunch.
