McCormick mc135

Hi everyone, I have a McCormick mc 135 power6 which is giving me some trouble, the pto cuts out(stops) when it’s under pressure, for example when I’m round baling and it starts to build pressure if it takes a lump of grass it cuts out and when I’m muck spreading with a duel spreader it’s fine with sloppy but when it takes some bedding, it stops. I’ve put new fan belts on, checked the alternator wires and recalibrated they pto. It will run the baler in 1000 at 540rpm but obviously under powered at such low revs.

Disconnect the cable and put the lever in to 1000 inside that will cure your problem!

The pto speed selector cable. The pto on those on 540 works at 260 psi and in a 1000 310psi. This is done by the pto solenoid modulating all the time! Its designed for the pto to slip on high torque operations.
