Mccormick Mtx 125 no drive

Hi folks
Was sent out to a mtx 125 with suspected alternator problems today (diagnosed by the customer as it was not starting) so fitted an identical new alternator and tested charging ok speed correct on dash but it will not drive forward or back, it will show reverse light on dash and can hear all four splits changing and no errors flashing on the indicator light next pto switch. It’s a standard 4 speed manual with 4 splits and creeper which has been tried in both directions. I’ve tested for power at forward solenoid and seems ok and tested for pressure at forward clutch test point and getting regulated pressure of 19 bar when engaged. I’m not very familiar with these gearboxes and wondered if anyone can give me any help or advise. Thanks

Had similar problem on my Mtx 135 . It was the solenoid gone faulty on the top of the gearbox at the back of the tractor - the nearest one you see standing at the back of the tractor.

I checked for power at both solenoids and there was power at both , so I changed the nearest solenoid I could get at first ?
I had a spare solenoid valve and fitted it , perfect since .

Another thing what could cause it is . There is a safety switch for the driver's seat that if you get up off the seat , the tractor will disengage drive. If you lift up the floor rubber behind the seat you will see the wires going to the seat . One set of wires is for the compressor for the air seat the other wire is for the safety switch to disengage drive . I just disconnected the safety switch altogether.
If the safety switch is gone faulty it could also stop the tractor moving forward or backward.

Yeah the solenoid had crossed my mind but I tested it for hydraulic pressure at the test port for the forward clutch and I’m getting 19 bar pressure when engaged and zero when disengaged which would seem that the solenoid is operating correctly.

Yeah I checked the seat switch too, it’s actually had a different seat fitted and has been bypassed for years and worked ok so I dunno if it’ll be that.

I do have a workshop manual for the tractor as I work for the dealer that originally sold it but they were before my time and don’t have much experience with them but thanks for your reply much appreciated

It could also be the reverse solenoid that is gone faulty . Either of them will stop the tractor moving if one is gone faulty.

Just remembered my Mtx was flashing a yellow fault light on the dash when I would select forward or reverse before I changed the solenoid.
Did you notice that on the Mtx 125 ?

Went out to it this morning and tried holding the creeper lever back and switching off ignition and it piped back into drive and working correctly now... so easy when you know what to do ? thanks for the suggestions
