Mchale 911hs problem

The turntable on the wrapper has gone really slow everything else works fine on the wrapper,loads fine and tips fine but the turntable will not do 30rpm only about 14rpm
Any ideas on this thanks Peter.

Is it returning the oil correctly? Could the return pipe coupling be damadged? Returning through a free flow return? Is it heating the oil up worst than before? Has it happened gradually or suddenly?

The oil is heating up as the tractor transmission oil warning light came on
Just after the problem,we switched tractors but still the same problem
Both tractors have dedicated free flow return above the pto

Any chance the nipple on the male coupling is worn or damaged thus creating a restriction

My guess would be that they require much less oil flow therefore it does not seem to affect them. Start with the basics, other option is to use the handle on the spool block to eliminate electrical gremlins or issues. But the oil heating up points towards a flow and return issue

what is the control box on it, could the brake for the table be sticking in slow mode

Expert control box done about 5000 bales

Just shows there are a lot of McHale machines out there,and they are being used at the moment,baling and wrapping mainly.Better engineered than most machines out there.Damaged nipple on a hydraulic coupling most likely here.

All makes of machinery/ tractors etc break down sooner or later!

This year seems to be very tough going for all types/ make of machines given just how busy all dealers of whatever colour are saying they currently are.

Whats the bale count?
When mine did the same thing the pump on the wrapper was on its way out,

Take the pipe coupling off the end of the pipe and put it in the oil filler cap or a clean drum and try it quickly before you empty the back end. I'd guess the coupling or pump is getting worn.

It was ok this morning,I have put a new coupling on the return

Sounds like you solved the problem, low bale count for a oil pump anyway, 40 to 60,000 bales to go yet.

I’m sure I had this problem. There is a valve somewhere but can’t remember where. Think we just did away with it.
