Mchale 991 wrapper to 50 series Deere

Morning all, just purchased a new to me 991 wrapper for the season. Plan is to put this on my 3050. I may be imagining it but thought I had previously heard of issues of the performance with the closed centre hydraulic system.
Is there anything specific I need to check/ change on the wrapper and is it just a case of plug and play on the spools or should i be running the return directly to the filter bowl?

We used to run 1 on a 3350 without a proper return to filter bowl we just put it back in through the filler hole and it worked fine . My current 3350 has a return on it but haven't had it on the wrapper yet

There is an extra return port on the wrapper valve so we but two return pipes on it one to the spools and 1 to a fitting we made for the filler cap ran it for years never had a bother

You will also need to plug to swap in the wrapper spool block to change the block to closed centre. Every new McHake used to come with one when I used to assemble them years ago....
