Got a belt on our v660 that has got a split for about half its width and was wondering if anyone has got any recommendations or experience for repairing the belt?

Tore a belt on my welger by swollwing a shape stone put a joiner in to keep it going but replaced the belts on the baler as advised by the dealer, insurance job but the joiners on these modern high density round balers don't last ! Is the baler still in warrenty ?

It's only a one year warranty on mchale , but rep told me that mchale were pretty easy to deal with on belts , I wonder if this is the case ?

I'd think you'd be lucky to get warranty on a belt but could be wrong. I've a hole in 1 of mine I think it was a lifter off the combine it's a rip about 6 inches long by 1 1/2 wide I just cut the flap of loose rubber off as it was catching the net and tearing 10,000 bales later and it's still fine but it's length ways to the belt if it's a rip across the belt might need patched or joined somehow but I'd think the only repair that will last is a new belt.

joiners last pretty well on older balers I don't know about newer ones I'm also told mato? joiners are the bees knees and far stronger than the other types.

I have just had a quote for 6 nerw Holland belts £570 the set I was speaking to local McHale dealer and he said McHale wanted £1000 for 1 belt!
if you want I will dig the number out for the guy I used but you have to supply the spec ie length 3ply tread pattern for grip. (he makes belts for such as tanco) all endless unless you wanted a join for ease!

he makes belts as 1 4ft wide piece then cuts it into however many you want so it might be better for you to get a full set even though it sounds daft!

Turned out mato had a depot just up the road so took the baler to them to have a joiner fitted, it successfully balled nearly 200 bales of hay last week so will see what it goes like once we are on straw

I fitted a joiner in my lely welger 445 tornado,it lasted 500 bales and failed again,I don't think that that joiners can hack it on a modern high density baler

They never used to last that well on my JD belt baler 25 years ago,but that was before the Mato ones which will be the only ones worth using on a modern baler.

I had mato do the join for me as we are only 15 miles from them, bit the bullet and fitted a new belt,as said 1k each, took 5 hrs and then a week later the belt that had a cut in it failed, everyone said it would be fine as the cut was in the middle but it still failed, took 4 hrs this time,I tried to locate non genuine belts but was advised that it was an expensive experiment if they were not as good as the original ones whatever the price if they only lasted two years!
