So if we are leaving the EU does this mean we wont be as badly affected by this? Its not likely to come into effect before the 31st of October so surely the uk will be able to say no?.
Not me, i'm still in the uk last time I looked

but but but we can re-wild, plant trees, export the perceived problem and import the food from where they are cutting trees down, then we can all feel good about ourselvesBrazil clearing a football pitch sized area every minute in the amazon rain forest for farming and to supply the beef for deals like this . Brazilian beef is wanted around the world! Yeah send some here, theres a shortage! You couldnt make this sh#t up.
UK imports from Ireland
In terms of specific sectoral exposure:
Almost 50% of our beef exports go to UK,
About 22% of our dairy exports go to the UK, of which:
41% is cheese, 26% is butter and 12% is SMP;
Cheddar is the largest dairy export to the UK - 47% (81k tonnes) of Irish cheddar cheese is exported to the UK.
Some 47% of cheddar exported to the UK is of Irish origin.
99% of mushroom and 71% forestry products and more than 62% of prepared consumer foods are exported to the UK.
Think they best give Boris a call
You'd think that wouldn't you.So if we are leaving the EU does this mean we wont be as badly affected by this? Its not likely to come into effect before the 31st of October so surely the uk will be able to say no?.
What a defeatist attitudeThe UK government cares not a bit about UK agriculture, and they will sell us down the river without a thought if it gives leverage somewhere else, regardless of who's leading the conservatives.
Anyone believing anything else deluded.
Let's stay in touch with reality here and not get carried away with being a middle class idealog.What a defeatist attitude
What's the biggest issue with the public . Climate change . Why are not the NFU pushing the isue of buying British rather than Rainforest beef
Dont agree. When they see those children in tears In the Amazon on news reports because they are being burnt out of their homes it has an effectLet's stay in touch with reality here and not get carried away with being a middle class idealog.
The biggest issue with the public (as you put it) is nothing to do with climate change, it's with their pocket, people buy what they can afford and most buy cheap food
