Any ideas why this is happening?

Engine at tick over.

Hydraulic oil level fine. Engine oil a little low. Only started doing it 15 mins ago.

It’s transmission oil? No? Plastic tank split?

tank is fine. Mechanic suspects seal in hydrostatic pump. He thinks it’s hydraulic oil.

just run it for 10 mins fetching couple bales to feed ewes and after starting It’s is real sluggish to move and after couple mins all is fine. Like it is low pressure in the pump till it’s replaced the oil leaked out.

Hi suspect transmission oil level is dropping could be motor seal or gear selection rams. The other possibility is has it been serviced and someone over filled gearbox?

Not been serviced since 6 mths ago.

Thus morning I could not get it to move an inch.

Mechanic due tomorrow if seals have arrived.

What’s the deal with the gear selector Rams?

Thanks.

They are screwed either side of gearbox but operate of transmission circuit, have known a few to pass oil and fill gearbox. The motor seal is more common but sadly not a cheap seal!!

Thanks. Yes I’ve heard they are not cheap.

But being without the handler this time of year is no fun for feeding out stock.

Yep I'd go with the motor seal too. Done one myself, never replaced gear selection rams seals though. An loads of fellow independents have done motor seals too. Common on enough on these machines and first sign is the expansion bottle filling up.

Motor seal replaced today. Looks to have worked.

Bit of a fiddle and getting to the bottom left nut to split the gearbox of was a right pain single handed.

But all back working.
