Im doing a large shed on built up ground which has had 1 yr to settle. Im either going with 5inch of 35n concrete with a142 mesh or 6inch with no mesh. Which would be best??

You say the ground has had a year to settle. What is the sub-base made from and how was it constructed? Concrete spec will be irrelevant if the sub base is not suitable.

Is it a minimum 300mm stone compacted in layers with a vibrating roller?

Assuming the above 6” with A252 mesh would be my choice if you’re putting heavy weights on it.

The extra cost is minimal compared to replacing it if it cracks up.

5 inch with mesh will be stronger, concrete on it own has little tensile strength. When you load a slab it will place the bottom side in tension. Cracking of concrete is nearly impossible to prevent but the size and location of cracks can be limited and controlled by reinforcement, control joints, curing methodology and concrete mix design.

It was built up in layers with good gravel ,tracked in each layer and vibrating roller to finish

Yeh might go with that and use a vibrating screed, now to get a crew organised,I have 70m3 going in.
