I just been looking, came to a similar conclusion :)

There all Chinese but for the amount I'm going to but cutting it's probably up to the job - also the three phase is considerably cheaper which suits me, found a few shops selling them for £850.

Thanks Case, I did some googling but vastly out of my price range, even second hand units.

Get a metal chop saw with a steel blade not an angle grinder type disk, much faster than a band saw but they are louder and you have to operate them rather than leave them to it. With a metal blade you also get no sparks unlike a grinder style disk.

Get on eBay I picked up a three phase one for 250.00 with twenty new starett blades bought a phase inverter from machine mart £200.00 so for 450 you have a sterling machine. Don’t bother with the tct saws they’re loud messy hit and miss on the accuracy good on a tight budget and very expensive on the blades which won’t cut thick metal over 6mm repeatedly.

This saw looks a bit massive and not in perfect condition. I have a question if those saws are applied only for metal objects? Can I use it for both wood and metal? Sometimes, I do some wood-crafting and create different pieces of furniture and decor objects. Now, I’m considering getting a new scroll saw. I even found a few suitable models for me on https://mitersawjudge.com/best-scroll-saw-reviews-and-buying-guide/ Meanwhile, I also think of adding some metal elements to my crafting. To make it look more urban and trendy. I wonder if I can get one saw for everything, instead of buying two different.

Go for two machines, you need cutting oil or lubricant for steel you’ll end up tarnishing your wood, but plastics etc or non ferros / ferros it doesn’t matter.
