I had a Makita and burnt it out last year it was made in 2004 and we gave it some stick, but now I have a metabo and find that the slightly larger motor just hangs in there a bit better but the vice grip on it is not as good!

Thanks, Sorry for the duplicate. I tried the search at the top of the page and nothing came up. Is the evolution the best?
It's on page 2. New chop saw. Not sure if its the best. It came from BOC. seemed to get a few good reports on here. You pays your money and takes your choice. I'll be the only one using it so I can ensure it won't get abused. Watched someone hanging off one once while trying to cut through a magnum drawbar. It burnt out then they wondered why ?

Thanks for the replies, I will have a look at the other thread (delete this topic mods if its duplicating previous topic). They will be just like any other piece of kit when it comes to abuse. Some of the vices look a bit flimsy/ hobby on the cheaper saws.

Make sure you wear some kind of eye protection the little chips they produce when cutting fly everywhere. Also if only cutting a 1/4 or 1/2 inch off something be carefull as the little off cut can snag in the blade slot and chips the teeth off of the blade, the blade won't last long once you get a chipped tooth or two.
