No it takes a lot more spark amps the burn methanolI assume that adding methanol or ethanol also boosts the octane rating overall, giving higher power?
he had a water injection apparatus on his car to improve performance and save on fuel. He explained that petol engines work better when the weather is misty. I have no idea if that's correct, but he stopped the car, lifted the bonnet, and showed me a gadget attached to the air intake.

This is a link to the BMW page for the M4 GTS with the water injection system. As said, although it is an 'old' technology, I believe it is the only current production car (and quite possibly the last) using water injection.

Yes you need more spark more timing and more compression to run it rightIt takes more to ignite it? Surely that means the stuff is more resistant to knock and so your compression ratio could be higher?
Yes I suppose it’s the current equivalent to a CSL.That is for the GTS, the hardened track day version? Costs a huge amount of money that.

I would’ve loved one of those
