MF 135 Brakes

Thought I would adjust the brakes today on my 135 did the n/s turned the star adjuster clockwise
and got that side adjusted up really nice, but the other side would not come up at all
am I doing something wrong? or is there a problem, the two operated together before I touched it
but the left locking up now and nothing on the right, Any ideas, please

To do the job properly you need to disconnect both linkages to the foot pedals and then jack up a wheel and adjust intill they just start to bind. Do both the same then adjust the rods to suit and balance the pedal at the desired height.

I've one side that works and the other that doesn't. Been like that for 30 years. One day I'll get the rim off. The studs are seized on. I'm guessing I need to weld a nut on to unscrew them, or is there another way? Pneumatic wrench?

Is the adjuster seized up and you've flicked it off ?
As said drum off only takes a minute if it isn't seized to the hub
Then you've got to wind some long threaded set screws in to bring the drum off the hub
It's not hard just takes a little longer

If your unsure take a picture and post it here we'll guide you...

This is your adjuster
But before you remove the drum have a look through the adjuster access hole to see if it's still in place
And remember one side is clockwise the other side is anticlockwise as it's reversed this can catch people out basically they wound it right off onto its stop thinking it's right on max adjustment if that makes sense...

ah!... So that's what I have done then wound it off, I'll have to get it off and put it
back, then make a note of which side adjusts up which way.going to have some good brakes
if I can get it like the other side, just started doing some road work towing a 4T weeks trailer
and a job to hold it back, loaded going downhill, any ideas to tonnage the 135 can safely tow?
