Had the massey 148 on a 3.5ft Twose pasture topper all day. Worked it like a dream. Bought a Krone Mower now so its mowing days are now over, But that little massey has done its fair share of work for what it is. Good little tractor.

A 'P' registered 135 will have cost about £2800 new in late 1974, early 1975 with the padded flexi cab and pick-up-hitch.
A fair condition version today is worth between £4k and £5k to an enthusiastic collector who will spend as much again, in many cases, getting it to better-than-new condition.

I think you may be a touch high on £2,800. We had a price for 165 in spring 1976 at £3,100 from Brian Willis
a touch dearer than the equivalent Ford at the time, that year all tractors went balisitic in price with the Q cabs coming in so a new 565 went to about £5,000.

Also 1974- 76 there would have been fair inflation increases. In 73 a ford 5000 at similar spec ie PUH etc was £2,700

In very late 1972 a 165 cost about £1750. By early 1974 a 135 cost £2600. But maybe John Willis was more expensive than Brian? :(

Also bought a 5000 in 1974, a few months after the 135, and paid just over £3000 iirc

mechanically very sound but body work a bit neglected..

I think you'd need to provide a fair bit more detail regarding tinwork. There's obvious cost associated with replacing tin, and the cheap Chinese sh1te that the likes of Agriline sell is not to everyones taste. If there's just a few dints that can be banged out and filled or the odd bit of rust that will clean up nicely with a sand blaster, then you're winning.

The best place to get the idea of prices is the classifieds in T&M, there's always plenty for sale. My guess, which is completely useless really would be £2K.

THEY HAVE A VALUE ? :eek::whistle::LOL:
Why did you say that Reidy, are old 135's and 35's not worth anything down your end of the world? If not, stick some in a container and send em back here!:)
Nice tractor Johnny, looks good condition, in 'working clothes' as they say, an early one judging from the round wings and red (ish) front wheels, guess the back wheels were once red too? I'm no expert but gotta be worth £2k+

There is a 135 not to far from here in an orchard, probably low hours slowly growing into the paddock.Have heard of some petrol Dexta's been exported back to the UK.:whistle: Quite a few 165's have been export out to the Islands from NZ.

Chill :) twas just a wind up from other thread about IH 484 (y) - yes they have an (overrated) value here, like em or not they are good sellers, just bought an MF135 petrol meself last week, water blasted to find tractor, rebuilt starter, changed all oils & filters & greased - should return a profit even if only petrol, folk go mental over them :rolleyes:

Know of one dealer who would have sent probably 100's 135/165 & ford 3000/4000 to the Islands - even sold odd one to them meself - they "apparently" don't fix them when they break down, just go buy another one :rolleyes:

As an added note - as the average jandal wearing (safety shoes) Island steerer don't look at gauges much, it is common for a tube to be run from the radiator overflow to just above the foot rest, so when tractor engine overheats (boils) in the tropical sunshine, said steerer gets notification that the engine is HOT :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: - true

True, wasn't there a Versitile pivot steer 4wheel drive in Fiji set up like that on Country Calendar about 10-12 years ago?:rolleyes:
Funny how no Cropmaster 1594's went to the Islands?:whistle:
