Don't worry about plywood had customer made some from thick plastic i was amazed but it worked a treat.....don't use brittle type..

The replacements that Woodfields Baler Spares sell are made of plastic. I made a few out of a leftover mahogany window sill. If you're making your own you really need an unused one to copy because as they wear bale shape suffers.
