Did you manage to solve this problem as I have the same on a MF135.Hi anyone know why MF240 hydraulics won't hold in position control
If arms are lifted half way with position control lever they come to this then keep slowly keep creeping higher
Thanks Jonty
Most people are fairly knowledgeable on here but guess no one thought you might have disconnected and welded up linkageNo sorry no-one came up with any suggestions I have since found a linkage disconnected on the side where lever goes in and one half welded up not had tractor long so don't know it's history
Now Then.Did you manage to solve this problem as I have the same on a MF135.
Many thanks for the response, so far I have approached four local people in regards to the positions of the draft and position levers and they are all different. The one I'm using is position lever just over half way and the draft to the position I require for height of topper. The removing of the hydraulic top plate I will keep as a last resort, I'm trying to get someone to sit on the tractor and confirm fault in case it's just me but they seem reluctant. Now Then.
Is the draft control lever in the right place for position work??
If it's all OK on the outside you'll have to lift the hydraulic top off. We had one last year where the 2 shafts pass through the top had seized together and broken away from the draft lever so it was always in a mix of position draft..🛠

The item below I can't find any reference to would this affect the draft and position levers. Many thanks for the response, so far I have approached four local people in regards to the positions of the draft and position levers and they are all different. Many thanks.
OK been out placed the draft lever fully back (UP) the topper tries to go fully up but I stop it as the PTO driveshaft wants to hit the topper. Moving the position lever to any position doesn't do anything all control is on the draft. No, it won't affect the controls. That is a diverter valve which in your case doesn't have any auxiliary pipes connected to it, so isn't really serving any purpose. Have you tried my suggestion in my last post of having the draft lever fully back and then using the position lever to set the height? If everything's set right inside, it should work. That's how mine works...
Yes it's a MF 135 1968.Is this a pre 1971/2 tractor without 'pressure control' hydraulics?? A picture of the hydraulic control levers would be good..
Ok I'll see if I can fit it in for the coming week, many thanks.Ok,so you'll need to drain the oil down by a few gallons and remove the right hand side plate to see what's moving inside with the position lever,if anything.
