Most people are fairly knowledgeable on here but guess no one thought you might have disconnected and welded up linkage 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Now Then.
Is the draft control lever in the right place for position work??
If it's all OK on the outside you'll have to lift the hydraulic top off. We had one last year where the 2 shafts pass through the top had seized together and broken away from the draft lever so it was always in a mix of position draft.. 🚜🛠🔩🤔

Many thanks for the response, so far I have approached four local people in regards to the positions of the draft and position levers and they are all different. The one I'm using is position lever just over half way and the draft to the position I require for height of topper. The removing of the hydraulic top plate I will keep as a last resort, I'm trying to get someone to sit on the tractor and confirm fault in case it's just me but they seem reluctant.
Many thanks.

For topping you would just position control. Put the draft lever fully back and leave it there. You only need to use the position lever to control the height of the topper. If it doesn't stay at a set height, there is a thumb screw behind the right hand side plate that may need a slight adjustment or there is a linkage problem inside.

The item below I can't find any reference to would this affect the draft and position levers.

No, it won't affect the controls. That is a diverter valve which in your case doesn't have any auxiliary pipes connected to it, so isn't really serving any purpose. Have you tried my suggestion in my last post of having the draft lever fully back and then using the position lever to set the height? If everything's set right inside, it should work. That's how mine works...

OK been out placed the draft lever fully back (UP) the topper tries to go fully up but I stop it as the PTO driveshaft wants to hit the topper. Moving the position lever to any position doesn't do anything all control is on the draft.

Ok,so you'll need to drain the oil down by a few gallons and remove the right hand side plate to see what's moving inside with the position lever,if anything.
