MF 290 cab blower motor

Evening all,
The blower motor in our 290 (sankey cab) hasn't worked for a long while and given the recent cold weather some heating would be nice! Dad took it to the local MF dealer who quickly dismissed it as obsolete anyway I've found a few options on eBay and Malpas etc but not sure which one I need, they all look similar? hopefully these photos will help

Sure any auto electrician worth his salt could repair it, or would know someone who could. Biggest issue I can see is getting the fan units off without breaking them.

The unit might possibly be the same as one used in the automotive industry. That, of course, may now be obsolete. I have fitted 2nd hand BMW units in IH XL cabs in the past.

It looks like a really serviceable motor. You could probably do it yourself - remove the fans, open the case, clean the armature, magnets and brushes then reassemble.

Have you power going to the blower switch in the roof and/or have you tried a separate power and earth to the fan motor to see if it actually works or not?

googling the part number on the unit in your pic, it shares OEM number with PM393 Blower Motor. £26.05 from rockauto.com. Can't vouch for them, mind you, and have heard of a few bad experiences, so... There's an info button on there with dimensions etc. if that's any help.

Looks very much the same as Ford 10ser biggest problem is dust wearing bushes which in turn produces a noisy motor.
