Just put a new tacho in to my dads little 35. Do they need calibrating? Reason being, throttle wide open only just goes to pro speed(1600 ish) but not to belt speed. Old one that was buggered went all the way round. Wrong clock perhaps? Any advice greatly appreciated.
The clocks are different if you note Pto and belt speed is different between models
It can also be a poor quality part!
Check your cable isn't slipping/seated correctly in the cam/clock drive I'm guessing your tractor is the 3cyl 35 not the 4cyl 35 with the 23c...
The between the 4 models speeds varied
Also check marked speeds are same on both clocks
If in doubt send it back they're 10 a penny to make,
You could always get your old 1 restored costs a heck of a lot more but it's money well spent for another 40years
It is a 3 cylinder, early. 68 I believe. The clock has sat on the shelf for 5 years, got round to ordering a cable so put it in and full throttle only just makes pro speed. Cable seated spot on. Did double check that. It’s a Sparex so quality is hit and miss. Unfortunately only one broke and then the tractor sat out and it became even more buggered. Will look to
Order one off granit next week. Any specific one meant for the 3 cylinder?
