Interesting trailer @24/7 farming one bale wide, for tight lanes?
Poor little tractor .........

yep, originally built for the 35 as it couldn't really carry the bales safely on the road (steering with brakes!). It originally had a single axle and the 148 loaded it, then chopped bales came along so axles got doubled up. If 398 has loader on (usually does) its 5 bales every time you go out the gate, we use in any field that is not beside the stack (will carry wrapped bales no problem too)

we got engine done in a MF148 last year, it was still running, but badly down on power and getting impossible to start... ended up broken rings were the culprit... it got the full works, whatever it needed, new valves etc, all in it cost 1100€ (£900ish) including labour and parts (there was a few extras in that come to think of it... fuel pump, radiator and other bits n bobs). A fair wack of money... but we have the tractor since it was 10yrs old and is still earning it keep... does all mowing for silage and hay, fert spreading, spraying and carting silage bales. Wouldnt have got 1000€ for it the way it was, and then would have had to fork out to replace it, so spending it on the devil you know seemed as good as any..

What size wheels on the 148?

There 19's @multi power and should be to match 32's

Our 148 someone has nabbed the wheels off
So we on hunt for 32's i have a set of 19's the fresh customer wants it a full overhaul painted up so another to add on the list
