The massey switch still clicks but has stopped working, I think it is worn out, unfortunately it is a sealed unit so i can't get in to clean it. I'll try to get some contact cleaner down the side of the button and see if that helps.

I'm not sure if a 62 series switch would work as that would be linked to the autotronic unit

I have ordered a switch so I hope it is the right one!

When I looked at switches before I confused myself with single throw single pole (stsp) single throw double pole (stdp) and a load more variations, so I gave up. I am starting to think a little trial and error may solve the problem as long as the switch fits inside the gear knob!

Sorry for the slow reply, we have had a family emergency this week.

Yes I did get this fixed thanks, with the latching switch. It was too long to fit in the gear knob so I made a collar to step it out
