Mf 399 lost middle range

Still works ok in high and low ranges. 12/12 shuttle. What is the likely problem? Selector spring thing that's often talked about would surely leave it stuck in one range?

Seen the gear lever cracking through the hole the spirol pin goes through , it still holds enough to flick from high to low and back, mind a390t getting split to replace a spring and discovering and all it need was a gear lever.

Check the gearstick as mentioned.
If nothing visible wrong it will be a stripping job to determine whats up as usually when the spring fails you are stuck in one range

No drive in medium

When "that spring" went in my 390, all drive was lost. No gears at all. Occasionally, it doesn't engage in a range or can be a bit stiff. I just try again and get there. So presumably there is some adjustment I need to tweak (when my time and inclination coincide)? Hope that helps the discussion.

But do you get a medium light in the centre position when you don't have drive?
