You should be putting female connections for the loader at the front just under the cab.
(beam lift to the left and crowd to the right)
If you think you may occasionally need feed to the rear as well, plumb a change over valve in each line so you can switch flow either way :).

When we used our 80 loader I turned the rams around so as the rod end fitted the beam and put a feed to both sides, took a few seconds longer to yolk the loader but was much quicker plumbed that way as to having the oil go all the way to the centre beam of the loader and then back to the left hand lift ram and back again on its lowering cycle.

That's great, will help with my plumbing!

I've seen a 80 loader with correct brackets, but doesn't have the ram and associated linkage for tilt, is it easy to retro fit a single ram system for this?

Has it got the 'bracket' for the crowd ram to fit on?
Some only were trip loader.
There must be plenty of bent and broken loaders about to get the tipping bits from

Ok great That's you. In my research in seen two type of front bracket, one for a 3cyl engine and one for a 4cyl engine, and have two belly plates, one for a 2wd and the other for a 4wd.
