Mf 6480

I no it’s not a sumo but ran a 3m 7 leg McConnell discorator behind my t3 6480 last year and it struggled in anything other then light land. It was on its limit for lift capacity as well I would not be doing it again unless desperate like I was last year. Would think it would play with a 2.5m one. Has yours got the bigger back end in it or standard?

Can anybody please tell me if they are running a 2.5m sumo behind a mf6480
Will it lift and handle it?
Thanks
I've had one behind my t7.210 and it was a reasonable match. 6480 is a little less but would manage as long as you aren't expecting to bury it.

They are very rare second hand, if buying new I would consider an Omnitill as they are easier to pull.

Lift arm top arm structure out the upper top part of the trans housing is heavier & a longer throw.
get the tractors serial number & any MF dealer can tell you its exact spec from new.
Lift rods for pickup hitch are longer.
you would have to have seen both types to tell.
The current 7618/7718 have the heavier same lift as standard.
Havnt seen many 6480s with it but it was available.
I know coz i didnt spec mine with it & at the time i should have done.

As for the Sumo if you only run the front legs at ploughing depth on a 2.5m it would manage it id say
but under ploughing power is your issue as you must have a dyna-6 6480 in 3rd gear for the boost to
be running.

7100kg standard lift vs 8000kg optional
am sure the standard lift would be fine on 2.5m sumo you might be pushing it on a 3m
ive had two 6480s here both with standard lift & they used to lift a Simba ST-Bar+Xpress 3m machine with no issues
& id say they were longer out the back & no lighter than a 3m sumo.

Thanks Farma Parma
2.5m sumo
Have a 2yr mf 7718 I usually use on sumo
But wondered if the 6480 would manage if needed
Have spec sheet of said tractor showing ordered spec
Elc with high lift capacity
is that standard order or higher spec?

Our MF 7480 think it was around 2012 3 leg Spalding flatlift.
