Right want to put power steering on mf65 mk2 cheaply.
How do I get constant flow from hydraulics with out locking lift arms all the way up.
Now tractor is a multi power model by mp is not working apparently plates are worn out. It will barely go into high until you go up hill then slows down. I am told you can get flow from there.
I need to be able to use lift arms for using scraper.
All suggestions welcome.
My steering box is buggered so taught instead of spending money on it put a ram on and get power steering

Small Hydraulic pump driven via fan belt. Small header tank mounted above. Most of the older tractors here in Spain have this type of arrangement which has been very successful.

just sell it and buy something that will do the job for you, as it sounds like you dont want to spend the money sorting it, and a skin flint way to approch this will end up with more money wasted,

Even with power steering your steering box will still need to work and taking power from the m/p is a non starter, push foot right down on clutch and the pump will stop

Why I want power steering as in fully hydrostatic steering. So do away with steering box all together. Replace with orbital unit. Put ram on axle. It makes it a useful machine. Its worth SFA at the moment and will be worth similar after. But it will actually be useful. A neighbour done this on a 50b.

there is a plate covering the a drive for a pump on the back of timing housing,
Orbital works great, i sourced the bits off a davy brown and fitted it to a zetoer,
transformed the tractor.
on a 65 you might want to fabricate a [cant think of the name] track rod ?? straight across
behind the axel and mount ram to that

MK2 65 will be the same as the MK1 165, or will it? Have you a high up or alongside drag link to the front for the steering?
As you know the 165 had a ram that goes on the linkage in front of the radiator.
Pressure from the MP, never done that. But, 2 pipes going to the bell housing, feed and return from the auxiliary (MP) pump in the back? This will have no affect on the arms.
But, best to get the pump for the engine plate as above.

They both similar, drag link on 65 is lower than 165 but same idea

Wonder if the same ram out front will fit both?
Seem to remember the tombstone has a casting on it to take the end of the ram, 65 mightn't have that.
Yes the DB990 with the stand up in cab, is the way forward.
You'd want a week in the pub after that transaction ..............

Well bought a pump from a 165 on ebay today so will find out next week if it fits or not.
Then worry about orbital unit and suitable ram.
My tractor has a high up steering rod near diesel tank.
So if all fits what else do I need. Is the oil self contained do I need a reservoir etc.

Agri line do power steering kits, Google them and they should have a good photo
