Cant get away with it at all on my 7499
The idea of it is right but turning on headlands with the likes of a plough it changes the responses of the whole driving
experience & it makes it far worse to maneuver the tractor unless iam doing something totally wrong??
iam sure earlier dyna-vt's didnt have this DTM button? just like mine has & it doesn't have that dial on side panel your on
about, that's in the left hand dash lcd on mine

My dial is on 25 the same as yours but pulls engine down to 1600 rpm what does yours pull back too?

With 25% set on the 'supervisor' knob, it is to be expected that the engine speed will lug down to around 1500 to 1600 before the supervisor intervenes and adjusts the transmission ratio to maintain those revs. That is quite normal. In stick mode you will have to increase speed ratio manually once the transmission ratio drops, but if you have the SV memory set, it will adjust automatically upwards as well as downwards. The memory setting [SV] will be lost if you brake though and will need pressing to reset when driver feels it appropriate.

Some people like driving in fully automatic pedal mode with a maximum speed set. Personally I don't, because the tractor can slow down too slowly or too quickly and over-rev, depending on how the driver sets it.

I find stick mode set to 20 to 25% on the 'supervisor' more than adequate. The engines have sufficient torque rise [reserve] that there is no performance advantage whether the engine pulls at 1600 or 2200, yet there is a significant fuel saving at the lower revs. Forward speed will be near enough identical under full load whether at 1500 or 2200, and there is no danger with the CVT of the engine falling below the set speed due to an inappropriate ratio and untimely gear change.

I think the deletion of the 'supervisor' knob, which is so easy to adjust on the go, to be replaced by settings that have to be searched for in the dash was a retrograde step. On yours the PTO supervisor % is automatically set to 5% if I remember correctly, and roading percentage to somewhere around 15 to 18% rev loss before transmission ratio alters? Fine for the casual driver but I really like the prominent and easy to adjust physical knob.

i think that pto vs trans percentage setting in left hand screen is in the late twenties on mine?
ive never really touched it to be honest.
where should it be then?
also how can i make that DTM function actually useable ? anyone else use this ever on there dyna-vt masseys with much
success ?

I use to drive in "normal" pedal drive, but sometimes I use the DTM also. On my 7619 DVT you can set the minimum and maximum rev's in the dashboard screen. Also you can set if it works all the time (clock symbol) or when using hydraulics/pto/rear lift.
Since I drive with a dump trailer mostly, I usually drive in pedal mode on a kind of eco set up. If circumstances suddenly get heavy then I press the DTM button which is set up to rev a bit higher so more power is available if needed. Suppose you can use DTM in lots of different ways depending on your preferences.
