Using a friends MF35 and it’s not starting well, it’s a 4 cylinder but I know it does start fairly well normally.
What I’m not getting is that pop from the heater plug. Turn the key anti-clockwise and the ammeter registers a drop as it should but there isn’t that pop from the inlet manifold. There was when he first got it (9 months ago).
Any idea why? How does that little fuel pot on the tank that runs to the glow plug work? I’m thinking it might be summat to do with that.

It will start with jump leads and starts fine after it has run a while.

Only really know 3cylinders but presuming it will be a similar system! The little tank fills from the injector leak off pipe when the tractor is running. When you turn ignition switch to the heat position the coil on the plug in the inlet manifold heats up I think once it gets to a certain temperature a valve is allowed to open and the fuel in the small tank gets ignited on The coil! Take the heater plug out of the inlet manifold and see what condition it is in, reconnect the wire and holding it with a pair of pliers earth it to the tractor and turn the switch and see if it heats up.

Is the engine turning over fast enough? might be a weak cell in the batter or the started is pulling to man amps and might need a rebuild..............................................................................................
