MFs with pressure control

Following on from what has been mentioned in Clive's thread about Massey's pressure control, what were the last ones available with the feature?
500? 600? 300? Or did more recent/"modern" ones come with it?

Pretty sure our old 690 had it, but I don’t recall the 399 having it, even though the hydraulic quadrant looked similar.
The 500 series had it, as did the 1100 series tractors from the US. A large size pressure coupler was available for the bigger tractors, but are very few and far between.

Aye 600s were the last and still got the heavy duty coupler yet.

Was it ever available on the 3000 or was it not compatible with the electronic system?

I would say that the pressure control was not compatible with ordinary hydraulic pump. It needed the Ferguson System type lift pump. Also the pressure control was meant to give more grip for 2WD tractors, that became rare.

Not available. It was a good idea in theory, but I don’t think it was as widely used as MF would have hoped.
The advent of heavier tractors, with factory fitted four wheel drive rendered it obsolete.

It was an attempt to copy David Brown TCU which had been around since the early 60's but as has been said was rendered obsolete with the mass production of 4WD systems on everyday tractors.

My old boss rigged hydraulic brakes to work with pressure control off the tipping pipe of 70s MFs. The pressure held the brakes off. A great idea for safety but in practice difficult to operate between brakes binding or oil foaming.

with the coming of 4wd it became superfluous.
