The farm that I do some work on is looking to start pasturising and selling their own milk, it seems that they are having trouble finding a supplier of plastic milk bottles any recommendations?

The farm is based in the Midlands. Cheers.

These are general observations, there are exceptions to every rule -

Lot depends on which sector of the market you are aiming for.

To be economic you need a high proportion of glass bottles returning. So it is ideal for the doorstep market.
The media makes out that glass is the envirenmental answer, remember there is a significant cost in energy washing & sterilising returned bottles
Shops - Some shops will stock glass, most can not be bothered with collecting & storing empty bottles until they are collected,
Caterers, Coffee Shops - The volume users prefer a bigger container - eg 2 litres poly rather than a pint glass. Most prefer poly as broken glass is bad news in a kitchen.

As stated above glass is very much of the moment and if printed on can look really professional.

From a delivered point of view the return issue is always going to be an issue but from a purchased point of view sales we are seeing are increasing all the time especially where milkshakes are being offered and with a cost price of around 50p we have no resistance at all to selling them at £2 each so good margin in them as well

I use these guys, don't be fooled by the poor website give them a ring and talk through what you want. They are local to us so I go and pick up but they will send stuff out. They do bottles, lids, pots, buckets etc.
