new sheep here so dont think it would be worth while blood testing them yet (or will it) plus they over winter on the hill. is there an all rounder mineral drench that can be used? ive never previously drenched and dont want to do it if its not worthwhile

Are they thriving?
If so, probably a waste of money/time.

The only way to be sure is too blood test and then treat deficiencies.

Drenches are only a short term fix - boluses are best, but only if you need it.

There’s absolutely no way of knowing what deficiencies you may have, if any, without testing. However, none of the TE drenches will do any harm, other than to your wallet.
Have any of your neighbours had a TE deficiency (through testing, not presumed/from the drench salesmen’s say so)?

Ime, a cheap drench costing 20p/dose seems to work just as well as a ‘premium’ one costing a pound. Neither will make any difference if your ground isn’t deficient though.

we have used brinicombe min drench for cattle, brilliant, just right to put a shine on stores before sale, or to get poor doers going. Anyway, hasn't worked so well recently, eu regs, now max amounts on mins, therefore the drench is now much 'weaker' !

this was my thought tbh. not had sheep on the holding for a year but previously my sheep seemed to do ok regardless.

think ill just go a cheap drench for this year and get them blood tested next year after theyve been here a while. None of my neighbours drench as far as i know.
