Mini digger bucket end bushes swap

The bucket and link arm bushes are shot on my volvo minidigger. I have ordered a kit which has all the bushes, pins and shims. Just wondering how hard is it generally to get the old bushes out and new ones in?

Can be hard, I did this on a machine and the bushed even though worn were hard as f**k, had to cut them with hacksaw to make em slack enough to remove used plenty of blades!

This is how we pressed some new ones in in June. Was really struggling even with the freezer trick until I realised I could get the baby press out the workshop

Plasma cut the old ones then drove out with a sledge hammer and big drift. The links I did the same but just pressed in in the workshop

When you're cutting them isn't there a danger of melting the main hole?

yes but if you are carefull the join/difference in the metal is enough to break up the heat, bit like cutting a bearing off a shaft if you go gental you can peel the bearing off without marking the shaft, especially if you go with the flame parallel to the shaft

I see what you mean. One thing I was thinking is, I have a sabre saw so might give that with a metal blade first.
